Museum of the MusicA music museum is built on the edge of a park in Sevilla, Spain. The building program consists of audition rooms, experimentation rooms, auditory and residential spaces for scholarship holders, besides the usual museum functions. The compact and massive volume of the museum fits in with the existing museum buildings in the park and offers noise reduction. Access, ramps, front staircases, terraces and gardens intermediate between museum and its surroundings. The essence of music is movement, therefore the traditional museum lay-out is not suitable. The museum is structured in longitudinal bands which contain different uses, allowing visitors to move without disturbing both music and other visitors.
