The heart of the town, which have been vigorous and the street which have never been deserted, seems to decline. The vacant shops are striking there and we can not find out the shadow of the past flourish. As a result, these change to the passing street. Like that, especially a provincial city, has a serious problem about cavity of the business district. Toki city, provincial city in Chubu Japan,is not exception. Now the heart of the Toki city lost the function as the business district. My project is to harmonize with the surrowndings and reactivate by proposing the architectural school in the street which have this problem and lose 'the face' of the town. As it were,it is to give the town 'new face' and reactivate the business district by developing and improving the existing face. The element of 'the gate' as the face of the street, the signboard along the street as beginning, the various arranged public spaces, trusses soaring impressively high above the entrance, symbol tower..... Each an individual element on its own are linked together along the bridge with each building and create new outdoor domains through the arrangement of different forms. In this way,the deployment of these spaces is characterised by rhythum, flow, repose, with there factors connecting and relating to one another. These 'stream'peak at the big space(drafting room) and flow into the culture zone. That is the story line that unfolds in this project.
